Rowan Doe

Greetings! Welcome to Rowan Doe Design.

I am an artist, maker, and adventurer always looking for that next new project. Currently on the road, I'm looking out for galleries, museums, and markets where the art is.

​

I came to Chicago knowing I loved theatre, loved making things, and loved collaborative art. Upholstery holds a special place in my heart, and ink is my favorite medium. My favorite part about what I do is that it encompasses so much-- crafts here, carpentry there, a splash of interior design and set decoration, and a lot of problem solving.

My other passion lies in people. We have nothing without people to tell stories, and more to listen. Teaching and mentoring are necessary parts of development, growth, and creativity, and seeing the spark as someone understands how something works, and sitting with them in the moment they learn something new about themself are some of the most vulnerable, intimate moments we share as artists. That connectedness is what brings us all together. Stories come together because of people, and the type of people I like to work with are those who are willing to talk, explore, try, and work together to create something beautiful.
